When Old Joe Biden was taken off his Delaware beach house IVs and rushed back to Washington, DC Saturday afternoon, it was obvious that something big was about to happen somewhere in the world. That somewhere was most likely to be the Middle East, after rumors of an Iranian attack on Israel had circulated all week.
Sure enough, that’s exactly what was happening, as Iran and its proxies in Yemen, Hezbollah, and Hamas launched more than 300 drones and missiles at the Israeli homeland, which is protected by the US-developed and -funded “Iron Dome” anti-missile system. That Iron Dome system was augmented by air cover provided by US military installations in the Middle East, along with the capabilities of two US Naval carrier groups stationed in the region.
What it all meant was that the Iranian assault was rendered a miserable failure:
Per the Israeli Defense Force, just 7 of the 331 combined missiles and drones found an Israeli target during the fusillade. All 7 were ballistic missiles - not a single drone or cruise missile survived the journey.
That’s pretty amazing.
