A note to subscribers and readers: Thank you very much for your help in making this newsletter/blog such a successful enterprise over its first five months of existence. I am so grateful that so many of you have decided that reading these things that I write is worth parting with a little bit of money.
As this painful, depressing year for America comes to an end, I know it’s hard to maintain a positive outlook, and that reading some of the things I write about makes it even harder. Trust me, it makes it harder for me, too.
The good news is that most Americans remain essentially good people. What you see on social media and in the news media is not a true depiction of real life in this country, which remains basically peaceful, and good.
Despite all that, 2022 promises to be an even tougher year than 2021. The level of inflation we have seen thus far has been like riding a bike with training wheels. Those wheels are going to start coming off in January, and we are going to witness a level of runaway inflation the likes of which our country has never before seen. The economic impacts from it will be severe, potentially catastrophic, and we have no competent adults in place in our federal government to try to deal with it.
The situation with energy will also continue to worsen throughout 2022. As I detailed yesterday, the global oil and gas industry has seen a tremendous level of under-investment in finding new reserves over the last 7 years, and the chickens from that will start coming home to roost in a very obnoxious way in the second half of next year. The Democrats and their media agents want you to believe that that oil and gas and coal can all be replaced with windmills, solar panels, unicorns and sugarplum fairies, but the real world doesn’t work that way: The global economy still runs on fossil fuels, and that will continue to be the case for a very long time to come.
Europe is going to give us all a preview of coming attractions this winter with a full-blown energy crisis caused entirely by a stupid over-reliance on wind and solar power. The rest of the world will get a taste of the same medicine starting in 2023-2024.
Biden is certainly not up to the task of dealing with any of this. His mental condition continues to visibly decline with every passing week. If you don’t believe me, go out to YouTube and look up clips of his speeches from, say, May and June and compare them to his more recent engagements. The contrast is stark and frightening.
I remain amazed that he managed to last in office for a full year. Of course, the Democrats had little choice but to keep propping him up, given the stark reality that Kamala Harris is even more incapable of handling the duties of any office than their dementia-addled Sock Puppet.
So 2022 is likely to be quite a challenge for us all. As long as I’m able to maintain an internet connection and stay out of the hospital myself, I promise I’ll be up every morning - well, most mornings - to write about it, and do my best to keep giving you a chuckle or two in every piece.
God Bless You all and keep you safe.
Happy New Year!
That is all.
Happy New Year David. I was happy to find your blog after you shut down DB Daily Update. I really enjoy your take on what is happening. Thank you.
As a constitutionalist I believe in the pure, truthful dissemination of news, regardless how painful or disturbing. After all, we need this data in order to save the republic from destruction. Keep up the good work, David. SEMPER FI.
