Airline CEOs: Masks "Don't Add Much, If Anything" to Airliner Air Quality Protection
So, why continue the farce?
The CEO of Southwest Airlines told a congressional hearing on Thursday that “masks don’t add much, if anything, in the air cabin.” Moments later, the CEO of American Airlines agreed. Moments after that, the CEO of United Airlines waxed eloquently about how newly-installed Hepa filtration systems protect passengers by fully cycling cabin air up to 30 times per hour, compared to 2 to 3 times in hospitals.
Oh.
So, why are we continuing the farce? Why are we continuing forcing flight attendants to channel their inner Karens to scold and get into constant conflicts with passengers in every flight in order to enforce a mandate that everyone paying attention has known for more than a year now does nothing real to protect anyone?
