I was a Cruz supporter when this happened. I, like many others, wasn't sure he was serious. I had see most of his interviews over the years, so I knew he had strong feelings about how things should be.
I happened to attend a small, quickly assembled rally in DC to "Stop the Iran Deal" at the Capitol. There was a good line up of people speaking, including Cruz, Palin, Dave Brat, Mark Levin and others. The one that surprised me was Donald Trump.
There were about 10k people there, everyone in good spirits (as every rally/protest I've attended in DC, usually is on the "right" side). When Trump came toward the speakers stage, he passed about 10 feet from me (I even got a photo). The, for lack of a better word, ELECTRICITY in the crowd was palpable. It was the strangest thing I've ever experienced at a rally. My friends with me also noticed it.
As we drove back to NoVA after the event, we discussed the crowd reaction. We also all pretty much agreed that Trump was the man to beat. Much as I liked Cruz, I felt he had no chance against this charismatic man. I changed my support that day and have never looked back, nor regrated it.

Amazing. Who could have predicted where this led? Certainly not me.
I wonder how Neil Young feels about their using his song? Whoops, maybe not the best choice!
