Ok, so, today’s my birthday, and I got out of bed thinking I was going to get so much stuff done today, anyway.
About 15 minutes into my morning perusal of the Web, though, I noticed my handy Dell laptop’s battery was discharging even though it was plugged in. Plugged the charger into a different outlet, no change. Went out in the dark to check the breaker box, nothing’s tripped. Went through all the troubleshooting steps the Dell website says to go through, no help.
By then, the battery was down to about 30%, so I decided to just shut it down and wait for Best Buy to open, since I have this super-duper coverage with the Geek Squad over there. But of course, that coverage isn’t as super-duper as I had thought it was, meaning they have to send my old laptop (4 years old, as it turns out) to a central facility to get the hardware fixed, as the Geek Squad only does software work.
Go figure.
So, I look at my wonderful wife and say, “welp, I should have had a backup all along, right? Right.” She nods, and says, “hey, I’m going to go look at washing machines while you’re doing that.” This day keeps getting more and more expensive.
Long story short, my birthday present is this spanking new Dell laptop that I’m paying for myself, of course. And the love of my life will be getting a new washing machine for her birthday.
I’m still getting everything installed and up and going, but I’ll be back fully online tomorrow.
Happy Birthday to me!
That is all.
Happy Birthday Mr Blackmon!!! But - if I may be so bold - to steer you away from Dell. They ‘re garbage. If you’re PC-minded I’d had great luck with HP. Went with. MacBook because of doing the show, otherwise I’d stay on PC.
Keep up the great work & God Bless!!!!
Happy B-day, David! Just had mine a couple days ago! Prefer Macs, myself, but cut my teeth on many a Dell back in the day! Happy computing!
