Ok, folks, subscriber signups have gone stagnant here, so obviously I need to change what I’m doing here to attract more support. Like everyone else who writes here at Substack, I want this venture to be profitable. Unlike most of the others, though, I have two big weaknesses:
I’ve never been much of a self-promoter and hate asking people for money; and
I’m probably going to keep doing this regardless because it’s what I love to do.
For those of you who have so generously supported my efforts here and at my previous site for the last 8 years, I love you and appreciate you. For those who haven’t, I want to love and appreciate you, too.
So, what can I do to a) keep paying supporters happily engaged, and b) convince the rest of you to let me love you by becoming a paying subscriber? I’m considering several options that I want your input about as a gauge of which would be the most valuable to you readers. Those are listed below.
***NEW LOWER SUBSCRIPTION RATES***
But first, I want to let you know that, right before I put up this post, I temporarily lowered subscription rates to this blog to make them equal to the rates to subscribe to my energy-focused blog.
Here are the new rates:
Monthly Subscription - $8.00 (Formerly $10)
Annual Subscription - $80.00 (Formerly $100)
Founder Subscription - $250.00 per year (Formerly $300)
So, if you are already a paid annual subscriber, now would be the time to renew for an additional year. If you are not a paid subscriber but have been on the fence about becoming one, now would be the time to take that action, too.
Note: If the response to this is strong enough, I will make the new lower rates permanent. If it isn’t, this change will probably end up becoming temporary.
OPTIONS FOR NEW CONTENT
Here are the options I am considering more attractive for current and new subscribers. If you are a subscriber, let me know if option A, B, C or D would be something you would participate in on a regular basis. (Note: This is especially important for option A, regular subscriber-only chat sessions, because I damn sure don’t want to start up a session and be left hung out to dry.)
If you are not a current subscriber but considering becoming one, I’m interested to know which, if any option would make you more likely to fork over some of your precious dinero and subscribe here.
Please respond either by a) making a comment to this post, or b) shooting me an email to david.blackmon@reagan.com.
OPTIONS
A) - A regular chat session open to paid subscribers with me here at Substack.
B) - A regular “Conspiracy Theories” podcast in which I would partner with a co-host to discuss the origins of the term and details of major media-labeled “conspiracy theories,” both recent and in the past.
C) - A regular Campaign Update podcast with me as host and featuring special guests to discuss current events of the presidential campaign that is about to heat up big-time.
D) - More guest pieces from 3rd-party contributors.
Thanks in advance for your input. None of this happens without you.
That is all.
Not interested in chats or podcasts or videos.
Probably won’t renew due to Trump bashing and support for establishment Ron D. You may want to mollify your MAGA subscribers (ASAP) that if /when Trump gets nomination you’re in 100%
I don’t want to spend the time on chats or podcasts either. But I think your more or less daily Campaign Update columns featuring your unique perspective are well worth $8-$10 per month. So maybe more guest columns to attract new readers?
