Campaign Update: Trump Cuts Through All the BS on Trade

So, now more than 50 countries have already called the White House to request the ability to enter into a trade deal with President Donald Trump and the United States. Trump told reporters on Air Force 1 last night that he “isn’t interested in making a deal” that doesn’t result in closing these countries’ trade deficits with the US.

Make no mistake: This is exactly the response the President was trying to engender with his tariff announcement. Also, make no mistake that Trump will ultimately enter into negotiations with these other countries, but those negotiations will not necessarily bear fruit until their governments come to the full realization that they do not hold any cards here.
