[Note: The original version of today’s Campaign Update went out with a link to the wrong interview between Donald Trump and Kristen Welker. It is corrected here.]

Americans have spent the last four years wondering who is really running the country? Old Joe Biden, the pretend POTUS, clearly wasn’t running anything, so it was a perfectly reasonable question.

Starting January 20, no one will be asking that question anymore. What we are finding out right now is that the US transition time frame is far too long and that national leaders around the world are already treating Donald Trump as the de facto President of the United States. That became abundantly clear during his weekend trip to Paris. More on that in a minute.

For better or worse, Donald Trump’s interview with Kristen Welker aired Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Trump did great, as expected, parrying Welker’s gotcha questions with relative ease.
