Campaign Update: Which Nominee Will The RINOs Tank?

A consensus appears to be growing within the Washington, DC punditry that Senate RINOs will feel the need to claim one scalp from among the final three Trump nominees whose hearings are being held this week: Tulsi Gabbard, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Kash Patel.

Frankly, I’m not sure this notion is correct, but when Mark Halperin is as insistent on any bit of inside skullduggery as he has been on this topic this week, it is a safe assumption he is basing his opinion on first-hand conversations with some of the players or their key staff. Plus, the nature of politics being what it is in the nation’s capital makes this theory entirely plausible. RINOs like Susan Collins of Maine and Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski must walk a thin political line to maintain their electoral viability with voters back home while at the same time continuing to undermine the GOP on key issues like abortion and Deep State spying on American citizens.

Plus, they both hate Trump’s guts and would relish a petty effort to take one of these crucial, final three nominees down just for spite. You can include Mitch McConnell in on that motivation as well. Another factor clearly in play here is their decades-long status as warmongers who never met a forever war they didn’t love and couldn’t find ways to leverage for personal profit.

So, these three of the 53 nominally Republican senators are very likely to oppose all three of the nominees still in play. The question then becomes which of the nominees will attract a fatal 4th RINO vote who would make an intervention by JD Vance to break a 50/50 tie irrelevant.
