Republicans on the House Budget Committee debate the Big, Beautiful Bill.
A friend asked me last Friday why I haven’t written about the House GOP’s Big Beautiful Budget Reconciliation Bill recently.
“Because they’re going to pass it,” I said. “It’s a must-pass bill. What’s to write about?”
Yeah, yeah, yeah, congress has to do all the brinksmanship stuff as part of the traditional Kabuki Theater in the nation’s capital. Bread and circuses, are you not entertained, and all of that.
That’s a given. It always happens this way. But at the end of the day, House and Senate Republicans must either pass this bill to at the very least extend the Trump 2017 tax cuts - and preferably expand them - or face total annihilation from voters in the mid-term election next year.
