Week 2 Republicans still don’t have their act together in the House
Rep. Scalise was in and then he was out. Rep. Jordan was next, but he may be out. The real challenge for House Republicans is that it is a caucus controlled by the electoral equivalent of a discontented almost-ex-girlfriend. There are 8-12 members who don’t know what they want – they just want someone different. This has been a challenge for over a decade and with the current razor-thin majority, the lack of unanimity on a few core goals is obvious. Until they can agree, the United States will continue to be without a Speaker of the House. It could be resolved tomorrow or next week – or who knows.
