Man, has this been a terrible week for the icons of liberal wokeness, or what? First, they came for Whoopi, and we celebrated. Then they came for Jeff Zucker, and we laughed our butts off. They’re circling around CNN’s chubby, bald Mr. Potato head host Brian Stelter, and we’re grinning with anticipation.
Friday, they came for the piece of human refuse, The Creepy Porn Lawyer, and the confetti dropped from the ceiling.
He actually faces up to 22 years in prison, but Benny Johnson was close enough.
Here’s an excerpt from a story at the New York Times:
After deliberations that stretched across three days and appeared at one point to be headed toward an impasse, jurors convicted Mr. Avenatti of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, agreeing with accusations that he used a bogus letter to trick Ms. Daniels’s literary agent into sending him almost $300,000 in publisher’s payments meant for her.
Mr. Avenatti, who is scheduled to be sentenced on May 24, faces a maximum prison term of 20 years on the wire fraud count and a mandatory two-year term on the aggravated identity theft count.
During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence that Mr. Avenatti had emailed a letter bearing what purported to be Ms. Daniels’s signature to her literary agency, Janklow & Nesbit Associates, directing that payments from St. Martin’s be sent to a bank account controlled by Mr. Avenatti.
Prosecutors said Mr. Avenatti spent the money on his law firm’s payroll, plane tickets, restaurants and a monthly lease payment of about $3,900 for a Ferrari. Although he eventually sent Ms. Daniels about half of the money he received, prosecutors added, she never got the rest.
Ms. Daniels testified that she had not given Mr. Avenatti permission to take any of her payments from St. Martin’s. And she said he had repeatedly lied to her as she asked for his help in obtaining what she believed was money the publisher owed her.
[End]
Avenatti, of course, was previously convicted of trying to blackmail Nike, and served more than a year of prison time for that one before recently being released. The man is obviously an habitual offender, an unreformable scumbag, and hopefully the judge and jury in this case will see that and sentence him to the maximum prison time. He richly deserves nothing less.
This seems an appropriate time to remind you that both MSNBC and CNN promoted Avenatti for more than a year as a legitimate leading candidate for the Democrat party’s presidential nomination, providing him free airtime on their platforms more than 100 times. That loving attention from leftist talking heads was not limited to those cable outlets. Here is a clip of the Shrews on The View lauding him as an almost messianic figure:
Just for funzies, here’s a montage of more liberal media hacks promoting this habitual criminal for the presidency:
Oh, what a week this has been.
Truly epic. And absolutely glorious.
That is all.
So fun to watch! BOOM!
Ahhhh....karma...
