Friday's Fabulous Absurdities: Tater Mashed by CNN - Can Lemon be Zested Next?

Of course, the best news of the week outside of the end of Liz Cheney’s congressional career was given to us by the most unlikely source of all, CNN, with the unceremonious firing of Brian ‘Tater’ Stelter:

CNN is canceling “Reliable Sources,” its long-running media affairs show, and the reporter who hosted it, Brian Stelter, is leaving the network, the company said on Thursday.

I love how the Democrat operatives at the New York Times refer to Tater as a “reporter,” as if he’s a legitimate journalist or something. What he is, is a clown, which meant he was a perfect fit for the CNN model envisioned and created by disgraced ex-CEO Jeff Zucker.

It’s a clown network run by creeps, like Zucker and Stelter and Don Lemon and Jeffrey lubin’ Toobin. It is only at a place run by creeps that fellow creeps like Stelter could have his own show, Toobin could actually make a comeback from his own disgrace before finally being let go, and where an alleged sexual predator like Don Lemon could be billed as the prime time star.

CNN began as a semi-legitimate news organization back in the 1980s, but has not really existed as anything remotely related to a news operation at any time in this century. Stelter stood as a shining remaining example of the organizational depravity of Zucker’s regime, given his infamous status as the most shameless brown-noser on Zucker’s staff was literally the only reason that a transparently dimwitted hack like himself would ever be allowed to host his own show.

The new boss at CNN, Chris Licht, has bluntly stated that he wants to change his failing cable channel back into an actual news operation, and jettisoning both Toobin and Tater were logical and necessary first steps in making that change.

Speculation about which insufferable on-air hack will be the next to fall now centers on either Lemon on equally ridiculous Jim Acosta. My money’s on Lemon, for what it’s worth, given that Acosta can at least claim some actual reporter’s creds by pointing to his years covering the White House. Lemon’s fruity name makes him the logical personality to follow a Tater out the door.

So hey, Tater did have at least one fan boy. I suppose that’s good to know.

There is a simple solution to this problem: STOP VOTING FOR DEMOCRATS. This is not hard; there is no mystery here.

But I would be willing to bet the balance in my 401(k) that that specific woman, if she votes at all, will vote for the guy who wants to make heroin legal and have the government pay to put it into people’s veins.

There is truly no helping some people.
