Bari Weiss tweeted out the second installment of The Twitter Files last night. This tranche of documents reveals what we have known for years now: That Twitter actively, avidly and forcefully shadow-bans conservative users who do not follow the approved narrative.
It’s a long thread, and I won’t try to post it all here. What these documents confirm is that, despite the steadfast denials given under oath in congressional hearings by Twitter executives, including both former CEOs and Twitter’s general counsel Vijaya Gadde, Twitter has indeed systematically shadow-banned non-woke users by deploying a variety of tactics.
Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this is that the Twitter censors were so confident that they would somehow avoid ever being scrutinized by any outside forces - you know, like a government auditor or Justice Department investigator - that they kept a dashboard associated with every account that displays which shadow-banning tactics have been deployed.
