Cause: Thursday morning, Old Joe Biden said he supports suspending the Senate filibuster rule so his fellow Democrats can enact their national abortion on demand law.

Arizona Democrat, Sen. Krysten Sinema (D-AZ), poured cold water Thursday on the Democrat’s hopes to codify Roe v. Wade by reforming the Senate filibuster to get around the 60-vote threshold otherwise needed to pass such legislation.

CNN anchor Ana Cabrera reported that Sinema’s office told her, that despite President Joe Biden supporting such an effort, the senator “is still opposed to gutting the filibuster on any topic including on reproductive rights.”

Sinema’s announcement comes after moderate West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin (D-WV) made a similar comment.

They wrote that “while White House reporters love to complain about non-answers from communications officials, many have privately grumbled that when Jean-Pierre does have answers, they are often vague and rarely stray from the pre-written talking points prepared in the binder at the podium.”

As I noted last week, it often seems as if this White House goes out of its way to find and hire the most unqualified and ineffective people it can find to appoint to its administrative positions. Ms. Jean-Pierre is just the latest in a long line of examples, and one of the very worst.

The CNN article then goes into a lengthy analysis of what is behind the current gasoline crisis (those with lots of time to kill can read it here) and also tries to explains, without actually saying it, that the only thing that can fix the problem is more supply, but - as we first explained - this can't and won't happen because green fanatics and socialist environmentalists will never agree to boosting output.

Which brings us to the punchline: as CNN's Phil Mattingly writes, "instead of managing an economy in the midst of a natural rotation away from recovery and into a stable period of growth, economic officials are analyzing and modeling worst-case scenarios like what the shock of gas prices hitting $200 per barrel may mean for the economy."

Well, in an article titled "Give us a plan or give us someone to blame", this seems like both a plan, and someone to blame.
