For the first time in almost 20 years, the folks at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA) issued a warning Thursday of a “G4 severe geomagnetic storm” heading from the sun towards Earth.
For those unfamiliar with the subject, the G4 rating is the second most-severe rating on NOAA’s ranking system. NOAA says the storm could hit Earth starting at mid-day today and lasting through mid-day Sunday.
