Friday's Fun Absurdities: Senile DiFi, Jedi Stelter, Lost Old Joe and a Civics Lesson From Joy
Let’s start the day with a little civics lesson from noted constitutional expert Joy Behar:
Try to imagine being one of the leftist housewives - and there are apparently hundreds of thousands of them - who live their lives with this show as their primary “news” source. It says so much about the current condition of our country.
Dear CDC: When you’ve lost the insipid, spineless sellout Joe Scarborough, you are well and truly lost:
Please remember that this mindless 15-day extension of the public transportation mask mandate comes at the same time when the Biden administration is claiming that we are so beyond any concerns about COVID that it is safe to suspend Title 42. Title 42 allows the feds to immediately return asylum seekers to their country of origin while their case awaits adjudication. It was invoked to … wait for it … help control the spread of COVID.
*sigh*
Meanwhile, in Texas, this was happening:
While the Sock Puppet and his evil minions were working to fully open our southern border, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was throwing liberal media hacks everywhere into a tizzy by forcing a couple of Mexico’s states to work cooperatively to try to stem the tide. The Governor did this by invoking his authority to order Texas law enforcement officials to conduct enhanced inspections of every commercial vehicle coming across the border, rather than just a small sample of them.
This is what used to happen all the time anyway, but that all changed with the NAFTA deal in the mid-90s and the massive rise in heavy truck traffic coming across the border that developed from that trade arrangement. Abbott’s action predictably created a massive backup of big trucks at various border crossings, disrupting international trade, creating economic disruptions in both Mexico and the U.S., which was in fact his goal.
And it worked. Films of the long lines got everyone’s attention, most especially the attention of the Biden administration and its media supporters, like the Houston Chronicle’s fake conservative metro reporter Erica Grieder, who tweeted this bit of nonsense yesterday:
Grieder, of course, was parroting the media narrative that attempts to allow Jen Psaki to blame the gross 8.5% March inflation number on an Abbott initiative that did not start until April. But hey, logical thought has never been a feature of the liberal mind, has it?
Anyway, good for Gov. Abbott. While his threat to ship thousands of illegal border crossers to Washington DC has predictably failed to produce much result, this other tactic has been a hell of a success. Yesterday’s deal with Gov. Campos Galvan of Chihuahua to step up her state’s border control efforts was the second such deal he has reached with a Mexican state Governor this week.
And any effort that gets all the liberal nitwits and fake conservatives in the corrupt news media up in arms like this one has is a massive success. You go, Governor.
Speaking of the utterly corrupt news media in this country, let’s kick CNN and its hare-brained CNN+ idea a little bit while it’s down:
That’s only funny because it is 100% true, given that CNN+ attracted a daily “audience” of fewer than 10,000 subscribers during its first 6 weeks in operation.
That little factoid was part of a hilarious list of 8 Things More Popular Than Epic Failure CNN+ that the good folks at Newsbusters published on Thursday:
Here are a few of the other items on that list:
■ A YouTube video of paint drying (and that’s it) has more viewers (nearly 1.1 million) than CNN+
■ During Christmas, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) handles over 130,000 phone calls from children on the whereabouts of Santa Claus
■ Over 118,000,000 are estimated to be subscribed to play World of Warcraft, a popular video game.
■ In 2016, the Australian Bureau of Statistics found there are "close to 48,000" Jedi in the country
[End]
Somewhere, you can just imagine that human potato Brian Stelter is prepping for his next phase of life after he is inevitably laid-off by CNN’s new management by Googling “Jedi training programs” in the New York City area.
In Washington, DC, the slow learners that inhabit the DC Swamp are finally waking up to the fact that 88 year-old California Senator Dianne Feinstein is senile:
This is a fact that has been quite obvious for several years now, but the DC establishment is just now starting a whisper campaign about it. In DC, starting a whisper campaign that gets picked up in the media is typically the first step in forcing someone out of office.
For some context on just how old Sen. Feinstein really is, think about this: She is one year older than former Yankees slugger Roger Maris would have been were he still alive. Maris died 37 years ago.
Feinstein is 9 years older than Old Joe Biden, who is also increasingly senile, a fact obvious to everyone despite the best efforts of the narrative maintainers in the Democrat party and the corrupt news media to pretend he isn’t. She is the same age as Ruth Bader Ginsburg would be. She is 7 years older than doddering old San Fran Nan.
She is 10 years older than this guy:
Feinstein is 3 years older than the Hoover Dam. She’s 32 years older than the Astrodome, which has been retired for more than 20 years. She has been eligible to collect Social Security for 29 years now.
In defense of those now working to push her out with this whisper campaign, isn’t it long past time for her and many others in congress today to retire? A person with self-awareness and grace would have done that long before now.
Of course, Feinstein possesses neither personal trait, which is why she responded to this and other media reports yesterday by saying she is “fine” and has “no plans” to step down. Sad.
Speaking of our senile nominal president, here he was trying to leave the stage after a speech he read from his TelePrompter yesterday:
I mean, c’mon, man. Stop with this malarky already.
That is all.
