Friday's Parade of the Absurdities: Jussie is Not Suicidal and Granholm Discovers America Has an Oil Industry of its Own
Jussie Smollett finally, at long last received some form of justice for the hoax he perpetrated on the American public on Thursday as he was sentenced to serve more jail time by the judge in the case.
All told, the ex-bad actor was sentenced to 150 days in jail, 30 months probation, $120,000 in restitution and a $25,000 fine for faking a hate crime. As can be seen in the video clip above, Smollett, apparently concerned about suffering the same fate as Jeffrey Epstein while serving his jail time, repeatedly shouted “I am not suicidal!” as he was led from the courtroom.
Given his “friendships” and connections with many prominent Democrat figures in this country, he may well have good reason to be concerned. Not that I really give a damn, but Jussie wants us all to know in advance that if he gets suicided while in jail, he didn’t do it.
In other news, here’s how up to speed the juvenile delinquents at the White House really are about energy-related matters:
Inconvenient fact: That chart ends before Joe Biden was installed in office in January, 2021.
Holy crap.
That helps to explain why Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was 100% correct when he said this on Thursday:
This White House is a bunch of energy ignoramuses, especially our Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm:
Good lord.
On the other hand, though, Granholm did finally figure out that America has an oil and gas industry of its own. This week she became the first high Biden official to actually call on the domestic oil and gas industry to respond to the current oil supply crisis by - wait for it - producing more oil. She made the following remarks during an appearance at the annual CERA Week conference in Houston:
“We are in an emergency, and we have to responsibly increase short-term supply where we can right now to stabilize the market and minimize harm to American families,” she said Wednesday. “I hope your investors are saying these words to you as well: In this moment of crisis, we need more supply ... right now, we need oil and gas production to rise to meet current demand.”
Here’s what she didn’t say, though: She didn’t make any commitment on the part of this increasingly authoritarian administration to take actions to help stimulate the domestic oil industry in the same myriad ways the Biden people have been trying to stimulate the wind, solar and EV industries they want to replace oil and gas. Until that happens, her words are worthless and frankly not deserving of a shred of trust.
The industry will get to work, as it has always done, but unless the Biden apparatchiks move to remove the shackles they’ve place on the business, the response will continued to be muted. That’s reality.
All you need to know about the Biden energy policies is that Granholm and the other regulators are trying to take our country down the same path trod by Germany, France, Spain and Italy over the past 15 years.
Here is what those countries are paying for electricity right now:
Here in Texas, we’re paying about 1/10th of those prices. Why? Because we have an integrated grid whose baseload power is provided mainly by natural gas, not by a bunch of windmills. Oh, we have plenty of wind power on that grid, but our state government, unlike those in Europe and California, has not attempted to use wind power as baseload. Hopefully, that will never happen.
But if Biden/Harris/Granholm et al have their way, you’ll be paying what Europe pays in the coming years. That’s their plan, regardless of whatever talking points written by a bunch of 18 year-old socialism majors say on any given day.
Energy expert Anas Alhajji summed Granholm and her imperious attitude up in a delightful tweet:
Beautiful. Perfect.
That is all.
I think it might help if the energy industry became more vocal about the effects the Biden admin policies are having on their ability to produce more oil. Without their voices there is no counterpoint to the lies spewed by the Administration.
You can't find enough adjectives to describe the stupidity of Granholm.
