It is often hard to decide whether Donald Trump is the 21st century version of Ronald Reagan or of P.T. Barnum.
For the last few weeks, it has felt like the former, with Trump the disruptive force in American politics dominating the scene and putting together a governing dream team to lead America away from the stupidity and excesses of the last four years and set it back on a path to again be the dominant economic and geopolitical force on earth, where it belongs.
Yesterday, it almost felt like the latter again, as Trump just casually discarded Matt Gaetz as his nominee for Attorney General as the going had gotten a little tough, though Gaetz had seemed to be making progress gaining momentum in his confirmation battle.
