How Trump Rolled Tillis on the Ed Martin Nomination

Here’s is how the Ed Martin saga went down.

Early Thursday afternoon, President Trump withdrew his nomination of Martin to become permanent US Attorney over the Washington, DC District. This seemingly was a victory for despicable North Carolina RINO Sen. Thom Tillis, who refused to vote Martin’s nomination out of committee.

I don’t mind admitting that I was pretty down in the mouth about it all myself.

But then, a funny thing happened on Tillis’s way to his victory party. Trump had said he had a good replacement for Martin already in mind, and it turned out he wasn’t just spouting off about that.
