The website for the U.S. Agency for International Development, a government funded den if iniquity with a $50 billion budget, has been down since Saturday afternoon, sparking speculation that the Trump administration is about to make a move to at least reclassify it within the federal government or shutter it entirely. The former would be a half measure; the latter would be a blessing for the world.
I’m going to explain why with a series of X posts by Mike Benz and others so that readers here will be fully informed when the anti-Trump propaganda starts flying on this matter.
First, Mike Benz does a great job of explaining the basic money-laundering influence-peddling scam behind the entire USAID operation [transcript follows]:

USAID and the National Endowment for Democracy. Now, USAID is, you know, a very notorious, it's sort of a switch player. There's no aid in USAID, by the way, that your brain is being tricked when you see the phrase USAID. It's not an aid organization.
The aid in USAID stands for U.S. Agency for International Development. It is “developing” internationally around the world all of the institutions that the State Department needs to use. So when they are capacity building activist groups in a foreign country, that's because the State Department wants those activists there.
Now, USAID for the first time in its history was created in the early 1960s by JFK in 1961. It was it was created because you had all of this intelligence statecraft and military support and logistical aid that was tripping over itself.
Basically, the military would be funding, you know, would be running aid to certain groups in the region. The State Department would be running aid to certain groups in the region. The Intelligence Community. And there was no there was no sort of central coordinator of those of those capacity building operations.
So USAID, by the way, is a $50 billion budget. The entirety of the intelligence community is only $72 billion. So it is more than the CIA and more than the State Department.
And USAID is effectively a switch player to assist the Pentagon with, on the national security front to assist the State Department on the national interest front or to assist the intelligence community on a sort of clandestine operations.

USAID essentially functions as one of many money laundering machines for Democrats in DC. Here’s how it works:
• Activists create obscure NGO
• Dems fund it lavishly
• NGO does bare minimum (or actively hurts the United States)
• Activists get paid and donate to Dems
Not only that but USAID helped spread their gender ideology nonsense and brought millions of illegals into our country.
That’s why Democrats are freaking out about the possibility that USAID’s being shut down by President Trump. It needs to be done.
Has anything good ever come out of USAID? Sure but we don’t have the money to be the world’s piggy bank and they’ve been an overall disaster that works harder to prop up left wing NGO’s than they do to help people. America voted to end this farce.
Back to Mike Benz, who has done yeoman’s work exposing all these government funded international money laundering operations in recent years.
In this series of posts today, Mike describes some of the myriad scams USAID has mounted over the years:

🚨 BREAKING: USAID Senior Officials put on Leave after Physically Trying to stop DOGE from accessing Agency Systems
Two USAID officials, John Voorhees and his deputy, were put on leave late Saturday night after refusing to allow DOGE members access to USAID systems. The DOGE members threatened to physically call the police after being refused entry. They were trying to access the security and personnel files.
Federal Officials are concerned that Trump is trying to fold USAID into the US State Department in an effort to cut Government corruption and bloat.
USAID employs approx. 10,000 people, excluding contractors, with 2/3 of them overseas. 60 USAID members were already put on leave last week after trying to circumvent President Trump’s executive order on stopping foreign aid.

Finally, to get you a little more fulsome information, here is a longer, 3:23 clip by Mike Benz providing more insight into USAID’s corrupt operations:
Transcript:
This by now should be a familiar picture to people who have been sub for a while. I've described the inside of the Blob - now, what's going on in this picture? For people who are new here or just to freshen up for folks who need a reminder, this describes our trifecta of foreign policy establishments.
And again, foreign policy just means the American empire instead of the American homeland. We are an empire that stretches the globe. We must manage our empire affairs, our vassal states, our markets. And so we have three big agencies in the government that do that. And none of these agencies are allowed to operate at home.
Those are the State Department for national US national interests, the Defense Department, the Pentagon for national security, and our intelligence community, which provides covert or plausibly deniable assistance on national interest grounds or national security grounds. National security grounds, meaning a military threat to national interests.
If you remember it, we want it. We got it. National interest means anything. Does it make us richer? Why do we want it? Okay.
Now, the part that I've left out of this to avoid confusion is a big old entity right in the middle of them. That entity is USAID.
Now, USAID was created in the early 1960s by President John F Kennedy because the American empire had been tripping over itself for some time. Because when we set up the CIA in 1947 and we reframed the Department of War to the Department of Defense in 1947, and we began this creation, this really expansion, dramatic expansion of the American empire abroad.
Outside, we had the DOD doing international development work, so to speak, for military reasons. We had the State Department doing international development work, if you will, humanitarian work, supporting local institutions for national interest reasons. And we had the CIA, doing its own thing.
So they were all tripping over each other. The Pentagon, the State Department and the CIA were all tripping over each other. There was no centralized agency to coordinate all the different reasons that we run money into foreign countries to influence the course of events in those countries. Again, they all face outward, or they're supposed to.
What is USAID? When people hear the name USAID, they focus on aid. They focus on this on thinking like it's humanitarian work. But aid is not actually in the name of U.S. aid. U.S. aid stands for the United States Agency for International Development, not Aid. It's not a charity. And international development is simply capacity building. [00:00:00][0.0]

That is all.
Thanks for this piece, David. We can’t, apparently, shed enough light on this. And if Schumer and Murphy are freaking out, then Trump is on to something big. We need to tear it open and connect the dots and follow the money. Which democrats recover donations from which groups that the democrats voted for. And same question for republicans.
Tear it down and audit the wreckage.
I can see arguments that it serves a useful coordinating purpose, but there's a point at which a thing grown for one use becomes a deadly nuisance instead of a useful edifice.
