One of the consistent features of living in developing nations around the globe has historically been an unending series of coup de ‘etats, installations of brutish dictators or military juntas and the holding of Soviet-style prosecutions of political enemies of whichever side currently holds power. It is a style of government the Democrat party has aspired to install here in the U.S. across my lifetime, and it appears the Democrats have now succeeded.
Donald Trump announced last night that he, the guy who is far and away in the polling lead for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination, has been indicted by the utterly corrupt Justice Department being run by the Biden administration and AG Merrick Garland.
It is indeed a dark day for America, whether it’s written in all-caps or not, and regardless of whether Trump is an “innocent man” or not. As Joseph Stalin famously said, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime,” and the Democrats have had multiple prosecutors investigating every aspect of Trump’s life virtually since the day he announced his first campaign in 2015.
Trump has always played fast and loose with facts and skated close to the edge in his business dealings, so it does seem likely that any special counsel assigned to his case would be able to dummy up something prosecutable when given enough time and resources. Trump’s claim that he secretly declassified all the classified documents in question but can’t provide any evidence of that being the case seems especially specious, among other things. We’ll just have to wait and see what DOJ has dummied up in this particular case.
