Monday's Absurdity of the Day: The Media Narrative on Afghanistan Suddenly Shifts

It was only a matter of time when the corrupt corporate media would shift its prevailing narrative about Afghanistan from catastrophe to rousing success - the only real question was timing. That timing turned out to be late Sunday, when the overarching focus of media reporting shifted from reporting on death and destruction and maiming of women and children by the Taliban barbarians in Kabul to a hyper focus on the number of “people” - not “Americans,” mind you, just “people” - who have been evacuated from the Kabul airport in recent days.

Those numbers were read by the Sock Puppet-in-Chief during his latest Kabuki Theater presser Sunday afternoon, repeated by the Pentagon and State Department in their follow-up press briefings, and were then dutifully turned into the prevailing narrative by the lapdog news media. So, who are all these “people,” not “Americans,” who the Biden administration is evacuating from Afghanistan, and who the U.S. media will henceforth pretend to constitute a huge success story for the Sock Puppet? Well, some are no doubt decent people, Afghans who have proven their worth during our country’s 20-year occupation of that armpit of a country.

But many aren’t. And many of those who our naive State Department people think are our “friends” are in fact Taliban or Al Qaeda plants and sympathizers, Jihadis who would just as soon be in the streets shouting “Death to America!” Just as half the Afghan army has proved to be.

That’s who the Biden administration now wants to bring to America by the thousands and resettle in your neighborhoods. In the days to come, the corrupt corporate news media is going to be doing its best to brainwash you all into believing that that evacuation with its big numbers - without any context - is somehow a huge success story.

The narrative has shifted, and you are its targets.
