Monday's March of the Absurdities: When Perps of Mass Shootings Don't Fit the Narrative
So, we’ve had several mass shootings recently, one in Brooklyn’s subway, another at a South Carolina mall, and a third at the Galleria in Houston:
Unfortunately, for the narrative-promoting ghouls in our corrupt news media, none of the perps in any of the shootings fit the narrative, i.e., none have physical attributes they could describe as “white supremacists.” In fact, they’re all African American males.
As a result, the media ghouls have spent far more air and print time obsessing over which emoji Elon Musk put in his newest tweet about Twitter than they have in covering any of these mass shootings. But the enterprising news-fakers at CNN, in the media’s never-ending obsession about trying to blame mass shootings on guns instead of the killers pulling the triggers, decided to report Sunday on a new study about gun-buyback programs, like the one Chicago has had in place for years.
Much to CNN’s collective horror, the study finds what everyone with a brain predicted before the program went into place:
“…but experts say there’s no evidence the programs reduce violence.”
But here’s the money quote from the story itself:
Chicago officials annually take in hundreds of guns through buyback programs. But decades of research shows such programs don’t reduce gun violence, in large part because they don’t result in guns being taken from people who aren’t supposed to have them. One recent study found “no evidence that (gun buyback programs) reduce suicides or homicides where a firearm was involved.” [Emphasis Added]

Yes, friends and neighbors, gun buyback programs don’t work because the bad guys, i.e., “people who aren’t supposed to have” the guns, don’t sell their guns to law enforcement. If they are inclined to sell their guns at all, they sell them to other bad guys.
This isn’t real complicated to you and me, but to the woke nitwits of the world - like Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot - it’s like rocket science or something.
Aaron Rupar is one of the most insidious presences on the Twitter platform, and now, unfortunately, he is infesting Substack with his brand of lies, half-truths and general overall woke nitwittery.
Over the weekend, he decided to do his part in the media’s unending, failing efforts to damage Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis:

Speaking of woke, religious cultish madness, another liberal politician was forced to admit the truth this weekend. Here’s Eric Adams admitting another reality about woke leftism we’ve all known for a very long time:

New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Sunday blamed woke progressive policies for the city's soaring crime rates - as he called for repeat offenders to be locked-up.
In an interview with ABC This Week host George Stephanopoulos, the mayor said former NYPD Commissioner William Bratton was 'right' when he said on the Bloomberg Businessweek podcast last week that progressive policies have led to an increase in crime in Democrat-run cities.
He affirmed Bratton's beliefs after the former commissioner's comments were read back to him.
Adams told Stephanopoulos on Sunday that he agreed with Bratton's assessment, noting that the former commissioner 'understood what we had to go through from the mid-80s to the early 90s when we had to transform policing.'
Since then, the mayor said 'major mistakes' have been made 'that destroyed the trust that the police commissioner is talking about. We have to rebuild that trust.
'But we can't rebuild that trust by allowing those who are dangerous and that have a repeated history of violence to continue to be on our streets,' an apparent jab at the state's bail reform laws.

The shame for New Yorkers in all of this is that, even as he was admitting to the sheer stupidity of these woke progressive policies, Mayor Adams continues to enforce pretty much all of the woke idiocy he inherited from the worst mayor in world history, Bill De Blasio. The man has been in office now for 150 days and has done squat to back up his occasionally sensible talk.
He’s a disaster. Then again, he’s a Democrat, so what did we expect?
Finally, let’s close with this other bit of very good news for America, courtesy of Gov. DeSantis:
So, DeSantis is moving a new congressional district map that would more accurately reflect the the state’s geography and recent voting trends, and the media is just outraged about it all. You have to love that.
