New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez is a human being who has no sense of shame. His first response to the public’s outrage over his indictment late last week by Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice was to label any and all criticisms of him as being racially motivated. That response came after the utterly corrupt goons at the DOJ had leaked all sorts of the evidence arrayed against the equally corrupt Senator, including photos of gold bars they had recovered from his home safe and a luxury car that were part of the years-long bribery scheme Menendez had been allegedly conducting with representatives of the Egyptian government.
Hey, if only the Senator had had a reliable 50-year-old sex addict, crackhead son to serve as the intermediary and a good lawyer who knew how to set up a network of shell companies and Grand Cayman or Bahamas bank accounts to launder the proceeds through, he’d have presumably been just fine. But taking the bribes directly and hiding them around his house without any shame or regret at all appears to be the real crime that is a bridge too far for Garland’s goon squad.
