Monday's Moolah Absurdities: Zelensky Wants More Billions, Blames Trump to Get Them
This is a novel way to grift the system.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell has determined, no doubt through some “scientific” study she herself conducted, that riding in coach on an airplane is not safe for Black women. No, really, that’s what she said over the weekend.
And it was a result of that new bit of science (which we can be certain is the result of climate change, since everything else is these days) and not a simple desire to fly in the lap of luxury on the taxpayer’s dime, that led the Mayor to attempt to defraud the city’s budget on her expense report filings.
I swear I don’t make this stuff up:
Here’s an excerpt from that story:
Speaking at a press conference Thursday, LaToya Cantrell said: ‘My travel accommodations are a matter of safety, not of luxury.
‘As all women know, our health and safety are often disregarded and we are left to navigate alone.
‘As the mother of a young child whom I live for, I am going to protect myself by any reasonable means in order to ensure I am there to see her grow into the strong woman I am raising her to be.
‘Anyone who wants to question how I protect myself just doesn’t understand the world black women walk in.’
[End]
Now, the key to this story is to know that, up until last week, the Mayor had been promising she would reimburse the city for the difference in the costs between her first class seats and what it would have cost for her to obey the actual law and fly coach. But then, she discovered that the total cost differential she’s accumulated during her time in office comes to about … wait for it … $75,000!
