No, Twitter Didn't Ban 'Journalists' Who 'Cover' Elon Musk

So, guess what happened to yours truly on Thursday? I was “permanently suspended” by Twitter, at least until I wasn’t. I logged into Twitter early in the morning to find a notice out of the blue from Twitter’s enforcement people telling me I’d been “permanently suspended” for some crime against the things Twitter laughably refers to as its “community standards.”

Not only that, but I had had “repeated violations” of some fake standard or another, and was banned “permanently.” Which for normal people means “for good, that is all,” but at Twitter means that in the very next sentence they tell you how to file an appeal if you are somehow confused by this arbitrary action with no prior warning or explanation.

So I filed an appeal and went about my business. Along about 8 pm last night, I get this note from the Twitter minions:

Now, I post all of this this morning not to whine about it all, because the truth is I am pleasantly surprised about the polite tone of this note and the fairly quick action that was taken to restore my account to working order.
