President Donald Trump turns 72 | CNN Politics

Several readers have asked me to opine about how Donald Trump should leverage his pardon powers once he has been sworn in on January 20.

Should he pardon the January 6 prisoners, most of whom have been so unfairly persecuted and over-punished for minor crimes?

Should Trump pardon Hunter Biden in an effort bring closure to his feud with the Biden family? What about issuing a blanket pardon to Joe Biden for his obvious crimes of influence peddling and outright bribery?

In my view, the answers to all those question is an unqualified “yes.” But it needs to go further than that.
