Well, I was going to write some more about the Kabuki Theater happening around funding the government in the House this morning, but lo and behold, the first thing I saw on X this morning was the video below of Thomas Massie laying out all the major points I was planning to make.

At one point, Massie calls the process the House and Speaker Mike Johnson are conducting on the latest economically ruinous CR and using the SAVE Act as the bright, shiny object to induce conservative Republicans to support the atrocity.

But, Massie notes, “you ain’t getting the SAVE Act” at the end of the day, because the first thing Johnson will do once the thing goes over to the Senate is cave on removing the SAVE Act because Chuck Schumer will demand it.

It’s the same Kabuki script that the DC Swamp has played over and over and over again since the House under San Fran Nan and John Boehner chose to quit doing its job and enacting real budget bills.
