It appears that New York’s longest-running clown act could finally be winding down to an ignominious end: Former NYC Mayor and name-changing communist Bill de Blasio (formerly Warren Wilhelm) said on Tuesday that he would not be challenging current Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul for the communist Democrat party’s gubernatorial nomination this year.
Wilhelm, er, “de Blasio,” who has spent the last 8 years serving as literally the most inept mayor in American history, and who also mounted a hysterically clownish run for the Democrat presidential nomination for a few months in 2020, was quoted by the NY Times as saying “No, I am not going to be running for governor in New York State,” Mr. de Blasio said, standing on the street outside his Brooklyn residence.
But fair warning, in an apparent threat to the people of New York, de Blasio when on to say “But I am going to devote every fiber of my being to fight inequality in the state of New York.” So be careful, New Yorkers: Your favorite inmate is not back in the asylum just yet.
And hey, de Blasio is the fault of New York voters, anyway, given that they are so damned idiotic that they actually elected the clown not once, but twice, and by overwhelming margins. So, to hell with them.
It’s all so irritating, though, because for about 20 years - from the early ‘90s until de Blasio came into office in 2013 - New York City was a wonderful place to visit. It was a safe city, a city with the most amazing cultural scene in America, a beautiful city filled with rude and irritating people who you loved to see and deal with nevertheless.
That’s all gone now, replaced by a culture in full rot, city infrastructure in full decay, high crime rates and surly people who will assault you for looking at them the wrong way. That’s what 8 years of this jerk did to this city: Took it all the way back to the bad ol’ days of the 1970s and ‘80s.
I miss New York, but I won’t be going back because I know the city that existed during the Giuliani and Bloomberg years is gone forever. Too bad.
But at least de Blasio’s not running for governor, so New Yorkers got that going for them now. It’s something, I suppose.
That is all.
They deserve what they voted for; FNG Adams appears nearly as incompetent. He maintained the vax mandate, that’s going to destroy businesses in the end. Used to have so much fun up there; hop a train @ BWI arrive in Penn Station 3hrs later; hit my target then go hit a bar - so many to choose from…or there were. It was exciting, the crowds, the bustle, all the incredibly hot women…
Now it’s all gone.
