Before we go into this, here is what I wrote at the end of my Wednesday Campaign Update about the Pete Hegseth nomination:
The best advice for Trump would be, unless you’re willing to see 3-4 more of your high-profile nominees go down, you need to stand firm and force the war pigs to hold a week of hearings on the Hegseth nomination, take a vote, and explain their opposition to the voters back home. And you need to make it crystal clear to Graham, Ernst, and the rest of them that, next time they’re up for re-election they’re going to face a very well-funded MAGA primary opponent.
If Trump tosses Hegseth aside without a real fight, then you all need to get ready for a Trump administration that doesn’t feature roles for Tulsi Gabbard, RFK, Jr., Kash Patel, and in which the DOGE operation is a miserable failure.
This is a key hill on which to make a real stand.

Guess what happened yesterday: The President-elect, JD Vance, and the rest of the Transition team at Mar-a-Lago decided to make a stand.
