As we sit here today, November 11, it appears that a Georgia runoff election will once again determine the balance of power in the U.S. Senate. It’s an uphill battle for Herschel Walker, especially given that the GOP candidates in both 2020 runoffs blew their races, leaving America fully hostage to the evils of full Democrat authoritarian rule.
For Walker to win, he’s going to need a ton of help. He has already called on just-re-elected Governor Brian Kemp to come campaign with him, and that’s a very smart move given Kemp’s strong victory over 2-time loooooser Stacey Abrams. But it is going to take more than that, since Republican voters have such a lousy history of turning out for this kind of special election.
The big conundrum for Walker is who to call on in this regard. He was famously endorsed by Donald Trump in the general election, and the Trump segment of the GOP voter base in Georgia remains quite large. The problem here is that Trump is now solely focused on hurling childish taunts at the single most successful GOP political figure of the past two years, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Asking Trump to come to Georgia for a rally on his behalf would be fraught with peril for Walker, given that we all know Trump would spend about 30 seconds praising the Heisman Trophy running back and 90 minutes praising himself and slamming DeSantis. Because Trump can’t help himself - it is who he is.
So, if you’re Herschel Walker, who you gonna call? If I were advising him, I’d go with this:
Ask Trump for a written statement of endorsement, but one written for him by an adult and without all the silly hyperbole;
Invite Ivanka Trump or Donald Trump Jr. or Eric Trump, maybe even all three, to come do a few campaign appearances with him;
Ask Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin to make an appearance or two to talk about parental rights in education;
Call on Ohio Senator-elect J.D. Vance, another Trump endorsee who was a big winner Tuesday, to come help;
Finally, after all that was in place, call on Ron DeSantis himself to come in for a big rally in the final days of the campaign, and hope Trump doesn’t go insane when he does.
For Walker to win this race, he is going to need the full buy-in from every segment of a divided GOP voter base, plus give independents who love DeSantis a good reason to turn out as well. It’s a tight rope given Trump’s mercurial nature and current surly disposition towards DeSantis, but it’s a tight rope Herschel is going to have to try to walk in order to win.
The saddest part for Walker and the country is, Trump can’t ensure his victory, but he can ensure his defeat with a single childish eruption at Truth Social.
What a sorry state of affairs.
That is all.
When Trump announces his run, the best thing for Ron DeSantis to to do is remain as governor for Florida until after the 2024 elections,.. when Trump will be to old to run in 2028.
Trump is on a revenge mission to win so that he can slap pelosi on the back-side as she trots out the door, slam chuck-you Schumer fingers in a door,.. spit insults on Speaker McConnell and dumbmass media .
Trump is a “Bull in a china shop” leading to election 2024,.. an Gov. DeSantis is a tea cup on the top shelf,.. the dirt Trump will throw will destroy any hope of his (DeSantis) future Presidential hopes,..leading to another Democrap President.
What should occur is a rally that includes both Trump and DeSantis arm in arm praising Hershel Walker together as well as praising each other.
The fight that is ensuing is egged on by and only benefits the RINO establishment.
