Sunday's Dance of the Absurdities: Biden flounders, Putin founders While Trump Triumphs at CPAC
Not surprisingly, Old Joe Biden’s public approval ratings continue to decline amid his confusion and bombast related to Putin’s attempted sacking of Ukraine:
My goodness. The ABC/WaPo poll is one of the most notoriously-biased pro-Democrat polls in the business. This is the same poll that, in 2016, showed Hillary Clinton ahead of Donald Trump by 13% just two weeks before Election Day. If the Sock Puppet is at 37% in this poll, that would most likely put is real approval rating now somewhere in the 20s.
Which sounds about right.
How bad is this poll for Biden? A look at this chart tells the real story:
Biden is one of just 3 presidents in modern times who is underwater as he goes into his first formal State of the Union address. This chart shows President Donald Trump’s rating slightly lower, but let’s remember that, by that time in 2018, Trump had been the target of the most withering media assault on any president in American history for three solid years, and the target of the never-ending coup d’etat mounted out of the offices of the Department of Justice and the FBI for more than two years. Biden, in contrast, has been the beneficiary of the most disgraceful display of media protection in the country’s history.
And the ABC/WaPo poll still can only get him up to 37% approval. Amazing.
Speaking of President Donald Trump, he spoke at CPAC yesterday, and his speech was, as usual, a real stemwinder. Trump went after Biden, Trudeau and the media with a vengeance they deserved, and it was glorious:
That’s a true statement, by the way: Trump was president for the only 4-year term during which Putin didn’t invade a neighboring nation. That’s no accident.
I am increasingly ambivalent about the prospect of Trump running again, mainly because I think Ron DeSantis would be a more effective president and would avoid some of the mistakes Trump made, like putting a Comey disciple into the FBI Director’s slot. But if Trump becomes the nominee again, he will certainly have my full and unambiguous support.
That would be glorious.
Just a reminder that Biden has 3 more years in office. There’s no telling what his evil minions might try force upon our public during that time. The maintenance of freedom requires constant vigilance: That has never been truer than it is today.
Yyyyyyyyyyyyyep.
Undeniably true.
Again, undeniably true. Sadly so.
But I think this was the very best line of what was a truly great speech:
“You can’t defend western civilization if you would not be able to defend your own civilization – and that means we need borders that work, elections that are fair and free, and crime that must be immediately stopped in our cities.”
Something we must all remember and take to heart in this year’s mid-term elections and in 2024.
Then there’s Putin and his seemingly-flagging invasion of Ukraine. I say “seemingly” because the utterly corrupt nature of our news media prevents us from ever truly knowing what the truth of any situation really is.
Fox News reports early Sunday morning that the major city of Kharkiv is back in control of Ukrainian forces, who apparently repelled an effort by Russian tanks and troops to take the city Sunday. If true, that is a major development.
Saturday afternoon, a member of the EU parliament posted a very interesting thread on Twitter, in which he claims that Putin is furious that his military advance has been so slow and far more difficult and costly than he had imaginged.
Here is that thread in full:
If half of what Mr. Terras claims here is accurate, it represents an incredible story of bravery and excellence by Ukrainian leaders and their forces.
Several other developments do not bode well for Putin. For example, the cowardly and deceitful German government, whose idiotic energy decisions have played a big role in leading to the current crisis, finally agreed to send weapons into Ukraine:
Excerpt from that story:
VIENNA (AP) — In a significant shift, the German government said Saturday it will send weapons and other supplies directly to Ukraine, which is fighting to keep Russia from invading its capital city. Germany is also ready to also support some restrictions of the SWIFT global banking system for Russia, officials said.
Germany’s chancellery announced Saturday evening that it will send 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 “Stinger” surface-to-air missiles to Ukraine “as quickly as possible.”
[End]
Better late than never, Olaf, you prick.
Also on Saturday, European Commission, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States issued a formal joint statement officially saying they are committed to cutting select Russian banks off from the SWIFT system, which governs and facilitates currency exchanges between banks and other aspects of international banking.
However, this action limited and does not fully impact Russia’s central bank.
Here’s an excerpt from the statement:
First, we commit to ensuring that selected Russian banks are removed from the SWIFT messaging system. This will ensure that these banks are disconnected from the international financial system and harm their ability to operate globally.
Second, we commit to imposing restrictive measures that will prevent the Russian Central Bank from deploying its international reserves in ways that undermine the impact of our sanctions.
Third, we commit to acting against the people and entities who facilitate the war in Ukraine and the harmful activities of the Russian government. Specifically, we commit to taking measures to limit the sale of citizenship—so called golden passports—that let wealthy Russians connected to the Russian government become citizens of our countries and gain access to our financial systems.
Fourth, we commit to launching this coming week a transatlantic task force that will ensure the effective implementation of our financial sanctions by identifying and freezing the assets of sanctioned individuals and companies that exist within our jurisdictions. As a part of this effort we are committed to employing sanctions and other financial and enforcement measures on additional Russian officials and elites close to the Russian government, as well as their families, and their enablers to identify and freeze the assets they hold in our jurisdictions. We will also engage other governments and work to detect and disrupt the movement of ill-gotten gains, and to deny these individuals the ability to hide their assets in jurisdictions across the world.
Finally, we will step up or coordination against disinformation and other forms of hybrid warfare.
[End]
So, it’s kind of a half-measure, but it is something that should, if enforced - always a crapshoot when these globalist elites are involved - hamper Putin’s ability to continue funding his attempted takeover in Ukraine if it last over a long term. This invasion is reportedly costing the Russian government $20 billion per day, and that is a lot of rubles where is Russia is concerned.
Keep the people of Ukraine in your prayers on this Sunday.
That is all.
I believe Biden is responsible for poking the Bear (Putin) until he decided he could invade Ukraine. Putin knows Biden is weak & evil just as he is. Good excuse to take evil advantage & kill innocent people of Ukraine.
