Sunday's Parade of Absurdities: Canada 2022 Looks a Lot Like Germany 1933
Saturday saw scenes not seen on the North American continent since, well, never. If you were in Ottowa yesterday, you might as well have been in Berlin in 1933. The love child of Margaret Trudeau and Fidel Castro didn’t send in tanks to put down an entirely peaceful protest, but he did send in hundreds of local, provincial and federal police, many of whom were on horseback, along with an array of armored vehicles.
Most tellingly as to their brutish intent, Justin Trudeau had instructed the law enforcement thugs who chose to attack their own fellow citizens to cover the tags containing their names and badge numbers from their uniforms:
The Gestapo and SS didn’t wear name tags, either.
As you can see in that clip, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) trampled several protesters, sending more than one to the hospital. That included one elderly woman using a mobility scooter:
Lovely. There was a report late in the day the woman had died, but that report is being disputed by the police.
Late in the day, the police denied they were using tear gas or pepper spray to disperse the crowds. Oh, hey, here’s a clip of the police using - you guessed it - pepper spray:
Speaking of the police, their thug chief - who was elevated to the job when the real chief resigned in protest of Trudeau’s plans last week - promised that law enforcement will continue to hunt protesters down and punish them:
If only U.S. law enforcement would do the same with BLM and Antifa domestic terrorists. But hey, they’re all Democrats, and thus exempt. The same principle would apply in Canada to supporters of Trudeau’s liberal party, and has for some time now.
Look, I’m all for keeping law and order. I support police use of pepper spray and tear gas to disperse potentially violent rioters. Had we had such tactics used in force during the summer of rioting in 2020, that would have turned out to be a week or two of rioting.
What I’m against is the rank hypocrisy of liberals, whether that be in the U.S. or in Canada. Trudeau admits to participating in BLM protests that took place in his country in 2020. He would scream in horror about heavily-armored police using tear gas, pepper spray and mounted cops to disperse those often-violent protests. There is no question about this - don’t even try to argue the point.
Trudeau is nothing more than Canada’s version of a liberal Democrat in the U.S. Remember the absolute hissy fit they all threw when President Trump ordered law enforcement to use whatever tactics they needed to use to disperse the BLM/Antifa crowd assembled in LaFayette Square, a crowd that was throwing rocks, bricks and full bottles of water at police and that had tried to burn down iconic St. John’s Church.
The Freedom protesters had been assembled in Ottowa for almost two weeks. They hadn’t tried to burn down any churches. They hadn’t looted a single store, or tried to burn down any federal buildings or police stations or any other building. They hadn’t assaulted or killed anyone. They hadn’t vandalized or stolen any cars.
And remember how they all reacted to video clips showing mounted border patrol officers using the reins of their horses properly:
They spent weeks lying and claiming the Border Patrol’s reins were actually whips. Because lying is what liberals do.
This was a completely, totally peaceful protest of a sitting government’s authoritarian, fascist policy choices. Despite the fact that the protest was made up entirely of law-abiding, peaceful citizens, pretty much all of whom were taxpayers and had no criminal records - in stark contrast to the domestic terrorist who make up Antifa and BLM - the government refused to meet with them even a single time, instead spending the two weeks falsely demonizing them with the help of a cooperative, corrupt news media establishment.
Yesterday’s end result - with an increasingly fascist, authoritarian government using violent, fascist tactics to disperse a peaceful crowd that had been blocking traffic and making noise for two weeks - was inevitable, and should have surprised no one. The only question was timing.
The problem Trudeau and his fellow thugs face now is one of having to play whack-a-mole with with similar protests that are beginning to pop up around the country. Here was the scene in Calgary on Saturday, for example:

Canada is a very big and widely-dispersed country. The RCMP and their huge horses and armored personnel carriers can’t be everywhere at once.
That is one of the few elements of Canada’s current crisis that don’t recall Nazi Germany circa 1933.
