The Campaign Update: California Voters Break Radical Leftists' Hearts
It isn’t often the voters of California produce somewhat sensible election results, especially not in strongholds of leftwing depravity and devastation like San Francisco and Los Angeles. But voters in both cities somehow summoned the will to do that last night in a couple of crucial elections.
As a result of these election outcomes, you should expect prominent Democrats to suddenly start talking about the need to restore this thing America used to refer to as ‘law and order’ in the country’s major cities. Not coincidentally, all of these crime-ridden cities are run by - you guessed it - Democrats. After yesterday, every one of those prominent Democrat big city mayors are suddenly going to start sounding a lot like Rudy Giuliani did circa 1994.
First, though, let’s look at the sensible move that California voters chose not to take in the statewide gubernatorial primary.
In that race, the weird, masochistic statewide voters sent the clear message that they will be totally cool with letting Gavin Newsom continue his reign of terror over their lives for another four years. Seems like they might have learned a lesson when Newsom only doubled down on his despicable failures after they failed to kick him out of office in last year’s recall election, but a wide majority of the state’s citizens have obviously decided that they like their political beatings and want them to continue.
As a result of last night’s vote in the state’s odd jungle primary system, Newsom will now face a runoff/general election with a pretty weak Republican, Brian Dahle, even though he received a clear, 56.6% majority of the vote. Given that Dahle took only 16.7%, any thoughts that he might somehow prevail in the runoff should be laughably dismissed. He gone.
