The Campaign Update: Ding-Dong, The Witch is Dead, But the Ministry of Truth Will Live On

On April 30, I wrote a piece headlined “Is Nina Jankowicz a Pre-Planned Sacrificial Lamb?” In that edition of the Campaign Update I speculated:

I’m beginning to think Mayorkas may have chosen such an easy lightning rod for outrage intentionally. Think about it: He and Biden’s other evil minions had to know that the concept of such a Ministry of Truth would evoke a high degree of opposition from the political right, and that they would come under tremendous pressure to reverse course immediately.

But the Democrats really, really want and in fact need such an operation to have any chance of retaining power in the face of this massive failure of a presidency. If they can’t exert maximum control over public speech and political thought - in addition to easily-defrauded mass mail-in ballots - their 2020 power grab will be quickly lost. With Elon Musk now working to complete his deal to take control of Twitter - the social media platform that did most of the work in helping to steal the presidency in 2020 - their ability to control that narrative is about to go away…

UNLESS - Unless they can devise a way to control what Twitter is able to allow in terms of discourse on its platform. The only way to do that is through a Ministry of Truth that sets the rules, but that board must be institutionalized.

To do that, they need a deflection - some sort of shell game had to be created to deflect attention away from the mission of the Board. The best way to do that would be to set up a sacrificial lamb to satisfy the GOP’s inevitable blood lust to get rid of the thing.

That’s right: The editors at the WaPo had noted disinformation specialist Taylor Lorenz write the story detailing Jankowicz’s “resignation,” i.e., firing. But if you think that means the Ministry of Truth is being disbanded, well, think again.
