The Campaign Update: Trump Really Needs to Stop Smearing DeSantis
Donald Trump held his first campaign rally of 2023 at the Waco Regional Airport Saturday, and things didn’t go as well as he might have hoped. Oh, the turnout was good, as it always has been, with people in red caps lining up in long queues hours in advance of the thing.
But there was no live TV coverage to speak of, and viewership online was pretty tepid. This pales in comparison to the millions upon millions who viewed these things live on cable channels like Fox News and MSNBC during the 2016 campaign and throughout Trump’s presidency.
Trump was his usual childish self, because that is who he is, after all, and he has no ability or desire to change. At one point essentially admitted his affair with Stormy Daniels, saying he “never liked ol’ horse face.” Very classy guy, Trump is.
At another point, he implied that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has already decided to abandon his Stalinist prosecution of Trump for his hush money payments to Daniels, saying "I think they've already dropped the case. It's a fake case. Some fake cases, they have absolutely nothing."
Fox News reports that “When asked for comment about Trump’s claim the case has been dropped, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said, "This has been dropped because everyone knows this was a partisan witch-hunt by a radical, leftist DA that sought to politically weaponize the Justice system to influence an election."
