Thursday's Absurdity of the Day: Beto O'Rourke. He's the Absurdity.

Just like Pete Buttigieg, the human absurdity who I discussed last week, Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke is an absurd human being. From his fake-Hispanic posing nickname to his fake posturing on issues to his overwhelming, nigh unimaginable personal hubris, Irish Bob O’Rourke is the very definition of a human absurdity.

He is the ultimate crass, cynical politician, a soulless political animal devoid of principles who literally reinvents himself for every subsequent office he attempts to win. As Mark Jones, a political science professor at Rice University, correctly points out in the Washington Times this morning, Beto 1.0, the moderate Texas congressman who often took principled stands on issues to reflect the wishes of the people in his district might be able to give Governor Greg Abbott a run for his money:

“Beto’s own worst enemy is Beto 2.0,” said Mark P. Jones, professor of political science at Rice University. “Beto 1.0 would actually be able to give Abbot a run for his money, but Beto 2.0 killed Beto 1.0 in 2020. The worst thing he ever did for his political career was run for president. Now he finds himself with the same image as most other partisan Democrats.”

Well, I would contend that Beto 2.0 killed Beto 1.0 in 2018, when he ran against Ted Cruz for the Senate and lost, but that disastrously-amateurish presidential run in 2020 sure did amplify his cynicism on the issues. It was during that senatorial effort that Irish Bob first talked about taking everyone’s guns away, advocated for open borders, and basically put himself on the wrong side of every issue for the majority of Texas voters.

The Washington Times story points out the fact that Beto’s trying to take it all back now:

Mr. O’Rourke gave voters their first glimpse of the new Beto on Monday in his announcement video. He signaled his plan to return to a message of togetherness and unity that helped him come within a couple of percentage points of replacing Sen. Ted Cruz three years ago.

Well, you know, for most Texans, the concepts of togetherness and unity fly right out the window when you talk about confiscating their guns and forcing their communities to deal with an endless invasion of illegal aliens from Central and South America.

And we damn sure don’t support the radical leftist Green New Deal that Irish Bob touted throughout his idiotic presidential effort. Texas is oil and gas country and is going to remain oil and gas country for decades to come.

Irish Bob said on Tuesday that he’s not worried about Trump and Biden, because they don’t live in Texas, and that he’s going to focus on the “30 million of us.” Well, see, the problem there is that most of the 30 million of us here in Texas don’t want to have to pay for the welfare and education and feeding and clothing of the additional 6-7 million residents of this state who are here illegally. And we damn sure don’t want to award those 6-7 million scofflaws citizenship and the right to vote as a result of their decision to ignore our laws.

All of which explains why the Abbott Campaign sent a shot across Beto’s silly, skinny-jeans-wearing bow yesterday with this devastating new ad that parodies his campaign announcement:

Irish Bob O’Rourke is a 2-time looooooooser who makes Stacey Abrams seem a winner by comparison. He’s about to become a 3-time looooooooooser, and it is going to be glorious watching this human absurdity make another concession speech next November.
