Thursday's Absurdity: Whoopi Threatening to Quit - Yeah, That's Not Gonna Happen.

The big news on the Caryn Johnson, er, Whoopi Goldberg front is that the un-funny comic is “livid” over being suspended by ABC for her despicably ignorant comments about the Holocaust and is now threatening to quit. I’m totally cool with that, but it’s not gonna happen.

Here’s an excerpt from a story at the New York Post:

Whoopi Goldberg is “livid” after she was suspended from “The View” over her claim that the Holocaust was “not about race” — and is telling co-workers she is going to quit the show, according to a source.

Goldberg, 66, feels “humiliated” at being disciplined by ABC execs after she followed their advice to apologize for the ill-conceived comments, a well-placed insider told The Post.

“She feels ABC executives mishandled this. She followed their playbook. She went on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ and then apologized again on ‘The View’ the next day,” a source said.

The source added that while Goldberg is taking the suspension hard and says she wants to leave the show, insiders believe she’s likely just sounding off.

“Her ego has been hurt and she’s telling people she’s going to quit,” the source said. “Suspension from ‘The View’ is like getting suspended from Bravo. The bar is very low.”

Ok, so, she’s “livid” that her own abject ignorance about one of world history’s seminal events led her into a situation in which she claims she “followed [ABC’s] playbook,” and went onto Stephen Colbert’s late night politics show to apologize. (Anyone but me curious why she chose fellow un-funny comic Colbert on CBS, rather than fellow un-funny comic Jimmy Kimmel, host of ABC’s own late night politics show, if she was really following ABC’s playbook?)

She then screwed that apology up by repeating her ignorant remarks made on “The View” earlier in the day, doubling down on ignorance as it were, and is “livid” at ABC about that, too, I guess.

That double-down on ignorance, which involved parroting talking points current-day Nazis actually use to justify their own anti-Semitism, left ABC with no choice but to either suspend or fire her outright, and she’s “livid” that they let her off easy? That sounds about right, given Whoopi’s blatant sense of elitist entitlement. Leftist celebs like her never feel obligated to take responsibility for their own stupidity - it’s always someone else’s fault.

Whoopi’s non-apology apology delivered on Colbert’s show stems from that sense of entitled, protected status. She no doubt feels entitled to her ignorance, because, after all, she’s special, and special members of America’s protected class never have to really say “I’m sorry” or “I was wrong.” It’s like that movie “Love Story,” only without that whole love thing.

If Whoopi wants to believe the Holocaust had nothing to do with race, that’s her right as a protected elite. Objective truth has nothing to do with it, because, hey, people like her are entitled to live their own truth. Isn’t that what we’ve always been told by this class of nitwits? You betcha.

Whoopi’s fellow hostesses on “The View” are also reportedly livid, because of course they are. They’re also protected members of the elitist class, and thus entitled to be livid about any damn thing they want to be livid about, and all you little people out there in flyover country have no right to tell them otherwise.

It would be an absolute blessing for our country if they all resigned and took their disinformation-spewing show with them, but of course we know none of that is going to happen, because doing that would require personal integrity and introspection on their part, and no protected leftist member of the elitist class in this country maintains either attribute.

So, Whoopi will serve her 2-week suspension while the other shrews spew even more disinformation to make up for her absence, and then make a triumphant return having learned absolutely nothing from the experience.

Because she’s special and entitled to cling tightly to her ignorance, and so are the rest of them.
