Thursday's Terrible Absurdities: A Twitter Thread That Nails it All

Political professional Ellen Carmichael put up a Twitter thread last night in the wake of Old Joe Biden’s latest affront to the constitution that everyone should read. It’s so good I thought I’d just make it the foundation for this Absurdity of the Day.

Here it is in full:

That last point is critical for our country’s future: “An America even further divided, where people wonder how they can safely co-exist with people with whom they disagree on politics.” That says it all.

Until the ascension of America’s Worst Mistake, Barack Hussein Obama, to the presidency, Americans tended to disagree about politics in a civil manner. Our disagreements about politics tended to be matters of degree; we were all Americans after all, and we all loved this country and recognized its unique founding and place in world history. We all shared a common set of basic values, all cherished the freedoms we had and respected the freedoms of others.

That all began to change in 2009, though, with the elevation of a leftist radical who repeatedly promised to “transform this country” during his 2008 campaign. It’s all gone downhill from there.

Today, we live in Barack Obama’s “transformed” America. It is a completely and probably irrevocably polarized nation. It is a country in which hate and outrage have replaced rational debate as the means of political discourse. It is a country in which the ruling party is actively and unabashedly attempting to destroy the founding principles and institutions, and the other political party is essentially useless.

Many Republicans had thought that getting through four years of Joe Biden would be fine - he would be too old and tired and wasted away to really do much. Boy, were they wrong. Biden’s status as a functionally invalid sock puppet has simply allowed his radical handlers to go wild with the presidency, unchecked as they are by anyone who possesses a shred of moral decency.

The radical leftist genie has been let fully out of the bottle now, and there is probably no going back from that. Many Republicans live under the conceit that what the radicals did to Trump is somehow unique, a one-time exception to the normal rules of Democrat/Deep State/Media behavior. But they are wrong.

The same will be done to any future Republican who manages to obtain the presidency. It’s inevitable. Once radicals have seen they can mount a three-year coup d’etat on American soil and come away from it completely unscathed, that behavior become ingrained. It’s just standard operating procedure now, like Antifa/BLM riots and burning Democrat-run cities, just another page in the Democrat/media playbook.

The real horror show for ordinary Americans out here in flyover country is that Biden’s terrible, but the alternative to him would be infinitely worse. Try to imagine having to live under the thumb of Kamala Harris, a completely depraved sociopath buffoon.

And it’s only going to get worse from here, folks. The Democrat Party today seriously considers Alexandria Ocasio Cortez as a viable future presidential nominee. She and the other members of her radical squad are really and truly the future of that party. Old Joe is just the tip of the Marxist/Alinskyite iceberg here.

Here’s the other thing about AOC: She and her insane ideology have already been mainstreamed by Democrats and the national news media. Four years from now, she will be considered one of the party’s “moderates” in the House. You know I’m right.

So, yes, Ms. Carmichael is absolutely right when she says that America today is a country where “people wonder how they can safely co-exist with people with whom they disagree on politics.”

Because how could any ordinary American who loves their country co-exist with people who are depraved enough to even contemplate the possibility of electing AOC to the presidency? How could anyone with a functioning brain hope to co-exist with a Democrat party in which AOC is one of the moderates?

That’s where this is all headed, and I honestly don’t see any way it can be avoided.
