Why, it’s you and your silly worrying, of course. No, I’m not making this up - just take a look and listen at this:
Excerpt from WaPo reporter Michelle Singletary’s answer to MSNBC anchor’s scripted, setup question:
You know, I’m just gonna say this, and, and if I get banged for it, I don’t care. There is a great deal of Americans where it is uncomfortable that they’re spending more, but they are not gonna go under. You know, you, you, you gotta stop complaining when there’s so many people who barely, the inflation rate means they may only have two meals instead of three.
There are Americans who did extremely well in the last two years in the market. You still have your job. And yeah, it’s costing you more for gas, but guess what? You’re still gonna take that holiday, that 4th of July vacation, you could still eat out.
So, I’m gonna need you to calm down and back off.
Because it feeds into this fear, and this fear feeds into people making decisions that creates the very thing that they’re fearful of.
Hear that, y’all? Michelle Singletary of the Washington Post is gonna need y’all to calm down. She’s ordering y’all to back off.
All you folks who have to commute 20, 30, 40 miles each way to work in rush hour traffic need to calm down. Because it’s your damn complaining that’s causing that damn inflation, you hear? How do I know that? Michelle Singletary of the Washington Post says so, that’s how.
All you moms and dads who are telling your second daughters that they’re just going to have to wear 3 year-old hand-me-downs from your first daughter to school this year instead of getting a new outfit or two because everything costs twice what it did when Daughter #1 was going into the 5th grade during the Trump administration need to just back off. All you retirees who have seen a 20-30% diminution in the buying power of your retirement funds since Old Joe Biden was installed into White House? Y’all need to quit complaining, you hear?
