Two new polls released since the Stalinist indictments against Donald Trump were revealed last week show the Democrats getting their wish, while at the same time demonstrating the Dems should be careful what they wish for.

The belief of the Dems is that Trump is unelectable in a general election, and they’re probably right. Thus, they are frothing at the mouth - which seems to have become a permanent affliction among the Democrat set - to run against the former president in 2024. The obvious goal of this lame indictment brought by corpulent Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is to set Trump up as a martyr among GOP voters and kill off a Ron DeSantis candidacy before it is even formally announced.

New polling released by John McLaughlin over the weekend indicates the ‘martyr Trump’ strategy is working, finding that the Bad Orange Man has assumed a 30-point lead over the Florida Governor in a multi-candidate nominating battle that includes Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo and others. Trump received 51% support among likely GOP voters polled, while DeSantis came in at just 21%.
