Democrats, climate activists grasp for comeback after blow from Manchin -  POLITICO

Joe Manchin was always going to screw his constituents in West Virginia and ordinary Americans across the rest of the country at the end of the day. He is, after all, a Democrat, and this is what Democrats do.

Y’all remember when Democrats - not just Joe Biden, but pretty much every Democrat running for office - told us during the 2020 campaign that they would never, never, never, ever raise taxes on anyone making less than $400,000 per year? Yeah, you knew that was a lie at the time, but your Democrat friends were all too dim to get it, right?

Right.

On Monday, the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation published a report detailing just how smelly a lie that really was, specifically as it relates to the tax increase-filled “Inflation Reduction Act of 2022” sponsored by Manchin and his pal, Chuck Schumer.
