Tuesday's Absurdity: Substitute the Word "Jew" for "Unvaccinated" and, well...

In one of the most despicable displays of wretched rhetorical excess to ever come out of any White House, the administration’s COVID Response Coordinator, some jackass named Jeff Zients, issued the following proclamation Monday:

“We are intent on not letting omicron disrupt work and school for the vaccinated. You’ve done the right thing, and we will get through this,” he said. “For the unvaccinated, you’re looking at a winter of severe illness and death for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm.”

In other words, it is the official policy of the Biden administration now that vaccinated people good, unvaccinated people bad. Substitute “Aryan race” and “Jew” for “vaccinated” and “unvaccinated” and, well, we’re right back to 1930s era Germany, aren’t we?

Some will say, ‘ok DB, it’s just words,’ but this kind of unprincipled and excessive rhetoric demonizing roughly 150 million Americans who are not fully vaccinated under the current definition - which does not even include booster shots yet - is dangerous. Exceedingly so. And once the CDC inevitably changes the definition of “fully vaccinated” to include boosters, that number will surge to over 200 million U.S. citizens.

Zient’s statement implying that Omicron will be the cause of massive death and will overwhelm our hospitals is also manifestly and laughably unsupported by any real data or science. If anything, Omicron presents symptoms no worse than the common cold. While having a cold sucks, it doesn’t send any healthy person to any hospital.

Indeed, in South Africa, where Omicron originated, we have seen a somewhat amazing decoupling of the rates of infections and hospitalizations:

This constant and shameless lying about COVID by this administration and its various media talking heads - like Anthony Fauci - is destroying the ability of any thinking person to take anything they say on the subject seriously.

But more to the point, it is obvious that, because of the abject failure of everything else this president and his evil minions have done this year, they’ve decided to use the scapegoating of millions of ordinary American citizens to distract the public’s and media’s attention. That’s not just a disgrace, it is approaching Nazi-level evil, and it needs to stop.
