They’re flip-flops, get it?
Viewers who tuned into Tuesday night’s debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump expecting to become better informed about energy-related issues came away disappointed. U.S. presidential debates seldom offer much time for discussions about energy, and this one was no exception as the ABC moderators – David Muir and Linsey Davis – worked overtime to focus on issues favorable to Ms. Harris.
The topic of hydraulic fracturing – or fracking – is not one of those issues given the critical nature of winning the Marcellus Shale state of Pennsylvania in November and the Vice President’s past promises to ban the safe and well-regulated industrial process. Harris has performed a breathtaking flip-flop in the issue since she was installed as her party’s nominee 7 weeks ago, but it’s a change in position that is always accompanied by her assurance that “my values have not changed,” a mantra she repeated more than once Tuesday night.
