Speaking of parades, the parade of Democrats retiring from congress just got longer again on Monday:
The latest to announce his retirement is the scurrilous Ted Deutch of Florida. Deutch represents a district that encompasses parts of Palm Beach and Broward counties, the former national HQ for Democrat voter fraud efforts, both of which have trended increasingly Republican in recent years.
Good riddance.
Wait: The Democratic Socialists are kind of, sort of right about something? When host Greg Budell raised the question during my weekly appearance in his afternoon show on News Talk 93.1 FM in Montgomery, AL yesterday, I had to admit they are.
Here’s the statement Greg was referencing:
The Democratic Socialists of America blamed US and NATO “imperialist expansion” for helping trigger the Russian invasion of Ukraine — provoking criticism from local political leaders.
“DSA reaffirms our call for the US to withdraw from NATO and to end the imperialist expansionism that set the stage for this conflict,” the DSA said in a statement.
“While the failures of neoliberal order are clear to everyone, the ruling class is trying to build a new world, through a dystopic transition grounded in militarism, imperialism, and war. Socialists have a duty to build an alternative.”
[End]
The key word in all of this is that “helping” that appears in the first sentence. Because anyone who denies that NATO expansion up and down Russia’s border with Eastern Europe since 1997 is one of the motivators used by Vladimir Putin to justify this heinous action against Ukraine is either someone named Cheney or Romney or Graham, or living in denial.
Since the collapse of the Soviet Union - which included many of the countries highlighted in yellow on the map below, Russia had always warned that efforts to expand the group’s membership to bordering countries like Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus and Ukraine would be unacceptable.
Yet, in 2002, George W. Bush agreed with other NATO members to admit Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, along with four other nations highlighted in yellow. Since that time, NATO has stationed forces right on Russia’s border, without question heightening tensions between the two sides.
Talk of adding both Belarus and Ukraine has also been a regular cause of NATO/Russian tensions since 1990. In 1992, Belarus became a member of the North Atlantic Cooperation Council, a sister organization with NATO. It joined the Partnership for Peace in 1995, and established a formal diplomatic mission to NATO in 1998.
For its own part, Ukraine joined the North Atlantic Cooperation Council in 1991 and the Partnership for Peace program in 1994. According to NATO’s own website, “In June 2017, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted legislation reinstating membership in NATO as a strategic foreign and security policy objective. In 2019, a corresponding amendment to Ukraine’s Constitution entered into force. In September 2020, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved Ukraine’s new National Security Strategy, which provides for the development of the distinctive partnership with NATO with the aim of membership in NATO.”
So yeah, the Democratic Socialists are kind of sort of right about something, although using this history to excuse Putin’s aggression is disingenuous at best. Nothing justifies what he has done. What he is doing in Ukraine is madness and an atrocity, plain and simple.
Speaking of atrocious madmen, I give you Joe Biden, the great unifier:
Honestly, how can we ever expect to have a unified nation when the nominal president of the country just outright lies like this? This is an outright, scurrilous lie, just another page from the Democrats’ playbook, the page titled “Scare the Black Folks.”
Despicable. Joe Biden is and always has been a purely despicable human being.
Speaking of the despicable Biden family, this happened yesterday:
He’s a lovely looking man, kind of like Hunter himself:
Such a great First Family. Thanks, Democrats.
And speaking of other utterly despicable liberals, Justin Castro, er, Trudeau did this yesterday:
“Admittedly, they are very small,” says the writer for Bloomberg, Javier Blas.
“Canada has imported very little amounts in recent years,” Says Little Fidel himself.
Just how little oil does Canada import from Russia? Check out this chart:
ummmmmm…seems like none, doesn’t it? Although I guess it might be included in that “Europe” number. Either way, it’s almost a literal drop in the bucket.
[Edit: Canada admitted Tuesday morning that it has not imported a single barrel of oil from Russia since 2019. Oh.]
Just another virtue signal from this despicable human being.
Finally, we have this from the terminally annoying veep, Kamala Harris:
"When folks vote, they order what they want, and in this case they got what they asked for. I went off script a little bit."
Ok, wait. We asked for….
Europe at war?
American hostages still in Afghanistan, 6 months after a disgraceful withdrawal?
Out of control inflation?
Mucked-up supply chains creating empty shelves at grocery stores?
$4 gas at the pump?
200,000 invaders from South and Central America streaming across the Rio Grande every day?
Funny, I’m pretty sure I didn’t ask for any of that.
Did you?
That is all.
But wait, there's more!: https://generaldispatch.whatfinger.com/reporter-asks-psaki-if-the-white-house-will-continue-buying-russian-gas/
I can’t believe such unserious, unprofessional liars are running ( ruining) our country!
