Tuesday's Terrific Absurdities: The KJP and Granholm Show Debuts in the White House Press Room - Unintentional Hilarity Ensues

Oil prices are rising again, as you have no doubt noticed when you’ve filled up your cars recently. That meant that, to provide a little cover from the suddenly hostile press corps, poor, hapless Karin Jean Pierre brought our similarly hapless Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm, into the press room with her to take up some time.

Naturally, deception and unintentional hilarity ensued. Check it out:

Bartiromo: Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm spoke out about the future of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve yesterday. That’s been about the only policy Joe Biden has, sell oil from the SPR. Here’s the energy secretary, watch this.

Granholm: Today, the SPR remains the largest strategic petroleum reserve in the world. And with our plans to refill [awkward pause] it at the lowest, er, aaaaahhhh, at lower prices [gulp] than what we sold at, the use of the SPR not only saved Americans money, but these releases will end up delivering a, uh, return for taxpayers. And soooo, it’s not a tool we should be taking off the table.

Bartiromo: Obviously a lot of gobbledy-gook…

[End]

Later in the segment, Bartiromo added “I’ve never seen any administration that will just lie like this to get what it wants.”

Oof.
