Tuesday's Terrific Absurdities: What About the Illinois Mass Shootings the Media Won't Cover?
As we all watch the national media’s ongoing coverage of Monday’s shooting in Highland Park, IL, it is a good time to remind everyone that this kind of mass shooting takes place in nearby Chicago every weekend, and the national media pays no attention at all, mainly due to the identity of the victims.
That was a report from Chicago’s NBC affiliate, documenting the shootings and killings in Lori Lightfoot’s war zone from Friday through Sunday.
But the city’s ABC affiliate reports that the killings continued on July 4, bringing the holiday weekend’s count to 71 shootings. In a bit of gallows humor, ABC7 notes this year’s body count is actually an improvement from 2021:
CHICAGO -- Seventy one people were shot , eight fatally, in 4th of July holiday weekend shootings across the city, Chicago police said.
Last year, 19 people were killed and more than 100 people were shot over the long Fourth of July weekend.

Apparently, this old weirdo has no floor, and that can only be described as good news for America.
