U.S. markets seem poised for a positive opening today after international markets jumped overnight on a wave of positive news that more than 70 countries have now formally requested tariff negotiations. Japan’s Nikkei index rose by more than 6% following reports that that country has sent a trade delegation to Washington, DC to engage in high level talks.
Officials at the European Union halfway capitulated sooner than even I had expected, responding to Trump’s tariffs with an offer of zero-for-zero tariffs on "cars, pharmaceuticals, rubber, plastic, machinery, and other industrial products."
