Tuesday's Tragic Absurdities: Trump Referred, Title 42 Deferred, Are You Not Entertained?

The least surprising thing in history took place in Washington, DC, as the assortment of anti-Trump hacks, grumps and war criminals on the January 6 committee made a series of criminal referrals targeting the former President and current hawker of NFTs.

Trump is charged, among other things, for a “conspiracy to make a false statement.” In the age of Adam Schiff, Liz Cheney and Karine Jean-Pierre, all of whom lie with the regularity that normal people take dumps without having to conspire with anyone in advance, you have to love that one.

Then there is “conspiracy to defraud the United States.” Maybe they’re referring to that whole NFT thing, it’s hard to tell.

“Inciting or assisting an insurrection?” Well, since no actual insurrection took place on Jan. 6, 2021 (it was a riot and nothing more), that one’s DOA.
